Description
Long regarded as one of the Mornington Peninsula’s leading wineries, Stonier always produce some of the region’s benchmark Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Crafted from a selection of the Mornington Peninsula’s oldest vines, their wines showcase the region’s cool maritime climate and the winery’s unique southerly position on the edge of Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.
This 2021 Stonier Chardonnay was fermented in a mix of French oak puncheons (10% new with a large percentage of one and two year), together with some older barriques, for a total maturation period of 10 months. This opens with layered and complex aromas of cashew nuts, straw, citrus, honey, sourdough and mocha oak. On the palate the creamy viscosity of the yellow peach and honey flavours is balanced by savoury notes of toast, with a long, clean finish. Another outstanding Chardonnay release from Stonier that will please the many fans of this wine.Â
